Orchalaw farms offers two different educational fall school tours, depending on the season.
Weekdays, September 1 to October 9
This tour begins with a wagon ride through the orchard, allowing students to see the variety of apples that are grown here. We then
go to the lookout, overlooking the Credit River, and here we will have a lesson on the annual cycles of an apple tree. Our lesson discusses how apples grow, what care is provided by the farmer in all four seasons, how to pick apples, and discussion of other things grown on the farm.
Students will also be led into the orchard where they will each pick an apple for their snack, plus 3 apples to take home in their own, special pick-your-own bag. Curriculum is geared to your class, for student JK, SK, up to grade 3.

Wagon Ride Through the OrchardReservations are required in advance. We have a minimum of 30 per group, and a maximum of 200 students at a time. No holidays. School tours are $5.50 per person, teachers are free. Scheduled tours are rain or shine, with lessons continued in the Ag Education barn should the outdoor weather be unfavorable.

Weekdays, October 13 to October 30
This tour begins with a wagon ride. Students will ride through the orchard as well as the fields, to see the variety of pumpkins and squash being grown. We will also see the overlook of the scenic Credit River, which is used for
irrigation source in the summer if needed.
Students will learn about planting and growing pumpkins, what the farm family does year round to plant and grow food, and discussion of other fruits and vegetables grown on the farm. Curriculum is geared to your class, for student JK, SK, up to grade 3.
Students will visit the Pumpkin Patch and choose a class pumpkin. Each child will go home with a pie pumpkin or mini pumpkins, depending on availability.
